Still every song of this film remain sweet. The sets, background score, music all contribute to the beautiness of the film. The speciality of the film is its innocence and beauty with which the romance is blossomed. The film does have villains and fight sequences, but the goodness of the film overshadows the weakness.
MAINE PYAR KIYA 2014 MOVIE
'80s when the movies used to be of low budget or full of action or explosions, this movie creates a retreat to the audiences bored of the same formulaic movies. It's not that the story is very different or mature but the treatment with which it's presented makes it special. Still I like this film and hop to some of the nice sequences. I first watched "Maine Pyar Kiya" when I was 6-7, and still I've the remembrance of the movie as a childhood memory. Sadly his subsequent ventures could not match up to the pinnacle of "Maine Pyar Kiya".

Sooraj Barjatya poured his heart and soul into "Maine Pyar Kiya" and it showed. S P Bala was once again noticed after "Ek Duje Ke Liye" and became Salman Khan's regular playback for a while. Raam-Laxman, a Rajshri regular suddenly was the most sought-after musician and needless to say, he made hay while the sun shines. Sadly he couldn't catapult to the same success levels in subsequent outings. Lakshmikant Berde was a new comedian on the block. Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo & Rajeev Varma were adequate. The nation suddenly looked up to this guy's well tones muscles who gave a new meaning for a must-have qualities of an actor. Salman Khan became every teenager's poster boy. How I wish all the fairy-tales would turn true. Just like Dimple Kapadia she bid adieu to the stardom to live happily ever-after. Bhagyashree became a national persona of "girl next door". Barjatya in the performance review did a job enlargement (read that makeover of a postman). Nearly forgot, the nation had suddenly taken penchant for the pigeons as Mr. Every teenager was practically mouthing the lines from "Maine Pyar Kiya" (predominantly "No sorry, no thanks" and "I love you so much that it hurts" Ouch!!). With the unadulterated & pristine love-story Sooraj ensured the young generation walked over the clouds. Loaded with ten songs it was Bollywood musical at its best. In all honesty ad-mist all the contaminated films that were around "Maine Pyar Kiya" was a whiff of fresh air. He ensured the product was high on family values which Rajshri banner is best known for. A decade later 1989, Sooraj Barjatya stealthily pulled a miraculous feat. "Tarana" (1979) was perhaps the last movie from the Rajshri banner which delivered a super-hit and then followed spate of flops. Deep Dhillon is okay, Harish Patel leaves a mark,Dilip Joshi made his debut with this film, rest are okay. Amongst other regulars, Alok Nath is good, Rajeev Verma is superb Ajit Vachnani leaves a mark in his negative role, Mohinish Behl is good in a villain role, he became a regular but played positive roles in HAHK and HSSH.Reema Lagoo is as usual. Laxmikant Berde makes a good supporting act and adds funny moments. Bhagyashree is good too sadly her career was shortlived. Salman Khan after his disastrous small role with a dubbed voice in Biwi Ho To Aisi, made a debut as a lead, he was very innocent, raw in dramatics, dialogue delivery was odd yet he does a good job for a debutante, he is likable. Direction by Sooraj Bharjatya is good Music by Ram Laxman is superb though 2 songs are copied, the title song is copied from I just called to Say I Love You and Mere Rang mein(has an interlude copied from Swedish rock band Europe's 1986 single, "The Final Countdown" and theme from Love Story, "Where Do I Begin") yet the songs are soothing and memorable, be it Kabootar Jaa Jaa, Mere Rang Mein, Aaya Mausam, SP Balsubraniam became the voice for Salman in 90s. The second half shifts to Salman going to get his love in Alok Nath's poor village and the end is typical 80s style, we also have pigeons who seeks revenge, Sooraj Bharjatya always had fascination with Animals, be it dog tuffy in HAHK or the animated parrot in the worst MPKDH. It has the typical rich vs poor guy and similar aspects from BOBBY where too Rishi and Dimple had similar problems but the treatment is nice. There are outdated scenes(in today's view) of a boy and girl cannot be friends. This is perhaps his only film where there are villain and some action too afterall it was a 80s film The film does have cherishable romantic moments between Salman and Bhagyashree, at times it is a bit cheesy, corny but bollywood loves it like that. There is also a funny smoking scene between Salman and Laxmikant. The film is still remembered as one of the famous love stories. This was first film of Sooraj Bharjatya, Salman Khan as a lead, Bhagyashree and Laxmikant Berde's first Hindi film.
